As well as a driver’s license and New York Car Insurance, your car must have a license plate which you will get when you register your car with the state. The registration is required by law, and you need to have the license plate fastened on your car in the front or back, or in some states, both. If the police see a car without a license plate, they will stop that person immediately and not allow them to move the car until it is brought under compliance. Most people would not think of trying to drive a car without displaying a license plate these days. Keep your registration in the glove compartment, also.
